Nature, culture and World Heritage site
Pack up a tent, jump on the Repovesi bus from the bus station and sleep for free in the national park.
The rugged landscape of the national park is filled with beautiful scenes for photography and by trying geocaching you might find yourself a new hobby. From the services of Repovesikeskus, you can find chargeable activities like paddling.
By Repovesi bus you get to travel to all destinations with one ticket per direction. So on the way to Repovesi, you can stop by historical Verla or by Vuohijärvi Nature and Culture House. You can also climb on top of the Elving tower and admire the scenery for a few euros.
Beach vacation in the sunny Käyrälampi
A night in a tent is also an option on the beach of Käyrälampi, where Tykkimäki Camping rents tent spots. With a small group, the price of a camping cottage doesn’t get too high either. In the evening you can warm up in the sauna and grill sausages on the campfire.
You can rent activity equipment from the beach also, but it offers a good amount of free activities as well. In addition to swimming, you can challenge each other in beach volley or pack up your own refreshment and disk in a bag and go Frisbee golf.
Culture in the city center of Kouvola
Hotel Turistihovi offers affordable accommodation with an excellent quality-price ratio in the city center of Kouvola.
You can enjoy some of the cultural destinations for free, but for full experience, some money should be reserved for entry fees. Kouvola architecture and beautiful old Kasarminmäki area can be explored for free.
Kouvola’s Museum Quarter represents its own time period and there you can visit Poikilo museum and milieu and radio museum. You can also buy a bus ticket and travel to Tehtaanmäki to see the architecture of Alvar Aalto.
After culture filled day you can relax in Gastropub Betony or restaurant Aula in an atmospheric interior.
