Aid to tour organisers – a bus or a package?
VisitKouvola helps tour organizers arrange successful tours and adventures in the Kouvola region.
In Kouvola, the urban and the rural live side-by-side. The Kymi River winding through the region provides the local population and tourists with a setting for recreation, serves local forest industry companies and provides a unique landscape. Industry is still a major employer in Kouvola, although the region’s forest industry has declined drastically in recent years. These days, an increasing number of people in the city are employed in commercial services.
Kouvola is also a well-known railway city. It is the western terminal of the Trans-Siberian Railway that goes from Europe to Asia, as well as being a significant junction in Finland.
Pristine nature and interesting history
As far as the road traffic is concerned, Kouvola is situated along Highways 6 and 15. The journey from Kouvola to Helsinki region takes a little over an hour by train and just under 1½ hours by car or by bus.
In Kouvola, nature offers the best landscape in Southern Finland to enjoy outdoor activities and summer cottage life. The region is home to the Repovesi National Park, where you can marvel at the changing landscape after just a short trek into the countryside. Along Route-6, you'll find Arboretum Mustila, one of the most significant forest parks in Northern-Europe. Arboretum Mustila is also famous for the blooming rhododendrons. Kouvola has the UNESCO World Heritage site, the Verla Groundwood and Board Mill, where you can learn about the operations and stories of the old mill. In the summer time, Tykkimäki Amusement Park is a great attraction, both for the young and the young at heart. Tykkimäki Resort, Finland's coolest resort, an absolute must-see destination for families, couples, groups and gatherers at any time of the year.
Nature is never far in Kouvola and all the different destinations in the region are within easy reach and safe to explore. Kouvola has a lot to offer for nature lovers and hikers, but friends of culture and families will also have a splendid time in Kouvola.

How may we be of assistance?
Every year, VisitKouvola organises with its partners themed and planned introductory tours for tour operators. We have heard from travel companies that different groups are very interested in this.
We are happy to present to tour operators the ‘jewels in the crown’ of tourism in Kouvola, together with businesses. We can establish whether it is possible for you to participate in a joint introductory tour or whether we arrange a private visit to a site in which you are interested.
