The Central Church of Kouvola

The construction of Kouvola's Lutheran Central Church was completed in 1977 and the church was inaugurated on April 2nd 1978. Church was designed in the Art Nouveau style, by architects Jakko ja Kaarina Laapotti.

The altarpiece was painted by Professor Jaakko Laapotti. The altarpiece symbolizes Jesus and his apostles. The church hall seats 800 and has room for a choir of 40.

During summer church is open for the tourists.
