Kasarminmäki is located just over one kilometer from the city centre of Kouvola. The redbrick buildings give you a little glimpse at the history of Kouvola. The Kasarminmäki area was originally built as a military garrison area.

Today, the area is home to different companies and there are different events that take place in the area around the year. You can also find the Holy Cross Church in Kasarminmäki.

Kasarminmäki is also the home to the campus of South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences – Xamk. You can sit back in their Paja Restaurant.
